What is the European Accessibility Act (EAA)?

Compliance in Consumer Web Shop
In accordance with article 2.2 (f) of the EEA, the accessibility requirements apply to e-commerce services. Our e-commerce service (https://shop.volvogroup.com/ and https://eshop.renault-trucks.com/) are designed to provide a seamless and user-friendly online shopping experience for everyone. The platform allows users to browse a wide range of products, add items to their cart, and complete purchases securely directly on our website. Additionally, customers can also reach customer support through different contact channels available.
Our work is ongoing, but we recognize the need for improvements. We are currently evaluating our platform with external accessibility testing tools and focusing on enhancing the following features and functionalities.
- Ongoing enhancements for screen reader usability
- Enhance keyboard navigation on all pages
- The user interface follows Volvo guidelines, though minor issues with contrast, sizes, and scaling need fixing.
- We will address occasional glitches in Alt texts, titles, tab orders, and other tags.
Additionally, we plan to conduct internal testing with individuals to ensure genuine accessibility.
We are establishing a testing framework to ensure new features comply with EAA legislation.
